GEN Z VOTER CHALLENGE
The goal of the Gen Z Voter Challenge assignment was to create media that encourages Gen Z voters to get to the polls. I thought this assignment was so important, as it was aimed to increase voter turnout and educate. Personally, I know many in-state and out-of-state college students who were unsure of how and where to vote. Making this infographic taught me, and hopefully many others, so much about registering to vote and the actual act of voting.
COPING WITH "ELECTION STRESS DISORDER"
"The election and media coverage is making me stressed and nervous with how constant and aggressive it is. People don't have peaceful discussions anymore, and people attack others for their beliefs online or, as we watched the candidates do, in debates. It's hard to tell what the final result will be, and it makes me nervous that, while we were so confident that Clinton would win in 2016, Trump could come away with the win again. "
This assignment was helpful in so many ways. First, learning about "election stress disorder" and how to deal with it was extremely interesting. Reading about it, and seeing my classmates post about their experiences with it, really helped people realize they were not alone in this. The election caused a lot of stress for everyone, so having a sense of community and togetherness was so relieving. Also, people shared how they coped with the stress themselves, giving others helpful ways to alleviate stress was a huge takeaway from this assignment.
